PharmSpec 2.0 Patch

Addresses SQL communication with the database.

This patch is only for people experiencing the SQL communication issue on version 2.0.1 and should not be installed on PharmSpec version 2.1 or version 2.2.

To install:

  • Download file from link.

    PharmSpec 2.0 Patch

  • Extract the databasemanager.dll from the self-extracting zip file.
  • Copy the databasemanager.dll to the PharmSpec 2.0 directory default

    (:\Program Files\PharmSpec2.0)

  • Acknowledge the prompt to overwrite the current file.

Updates existing USP functionality to current compendial level

To install:

  • Find your specific PharmSpec license code that was used to load PharmSpec onto your system.It may located in the back of the PharmSpec manual.Copy into a form you can “cut-and-paste” the lengthy code for one of the later steps.
  • Download the update from the link above.
  • Extract the files, if compressed or “zipped”; save to a folder on the PharmSpec computer.
  • Select Procedure Loader from the PharmSpec folder in the Start menu.
  • Sign in with a User ID and Password.
  • Click the Load button.
  • Open the folder that contains the appropriate procedure you wish to load.
  • Select the USPxxxxxxxx.MDB file and click Open.
  • Enter your license key and click OK.
  • Move the procedures from the Master List to the Selected List and click Upload Procedure. This could take several seconds.

When the procedures have been loaded into the database, click CLOSE and again CLOSE to exit the Procedure Loader.

The new procedures should now be available in the list of compendial procedures within the main PharmSpec program.

  • If necessary, REMOVE any unwanted earlier procedures using SETUP>DISABLE OBSOLETE PROCEDURES.Access to this function requires a user with ADMINISTRATOR level permission on PharmSpec.

EP6 Update

For current PharmSpec 2 users with EP compendial test licenses.
For current PharmSpec 2 users with USP or EP compendial test licenses.
Updates existing EP functionality to current compendial level.

To install:

  • Download the update from link.

  • Extract the files.
  • Select Procedure Loader from the PharmSpec folder in the Start menu.
  • Sign in with a User ID and Password.
  • Click the Load button.
  • Open the folder that contains the appropriate procedure you wish to load.
  • Select the EP6_2_9_19.mdb and click Open.
  • Enter your license key and click OK.
  • Move the procedures from the Master List to the Selected List and click Upload Procedure. This could take several seconds.
  • When the procedures have been loaded into the database, click Close and Close again to exit the Procedure Loader.

JP Update

For current PharmSpec 2 users with JP compendial test licenses.
Updates existing JP functionality to current compendial level.

  • Download the update from link.

    JP_XV

  • Select Procedure Loader from the PharmSpec folder in the Start menu.
  • Sign in with a User ID and Password.
  • Click the Load button.
  • Open the folder that contains the appropriate procedure you wish to load.
  • Select the JP_XV.mdb and click Open.
  • Enter your license key and click OK.
  • Move the procedures from the Master List to the Selected List and click Upload Procedure. This could take several seconds.
  • When the procedures have been loaded into the database, click Close and Close again to exit the Procedure Loader.

KP9 Update

For current PharmSpec 2 users with KP compendial test licenses.
Updates existing KP functionality to current compendial level.

  • Download the update from link.

  • Select Procedure Loader from the PharmSpec folder in the Start menu.
  • Sign in with a User ID and Password.
  • Click the Load button.
  • Open the folder that contains the appropriate procedure you wish to load.
  • Select the KP9_51.mdb and click Open.
  • Enter your license key and click OK.
  • Move the procedures from the Master List to the Selected List and click Upload Procedure. This could take several seconds.
  • When the procedures have been loaded into the database, click Close and Close again to exit the Procedure Loader.
